Harley owners ride for Million Mile Monday

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

LAST night saw Harley Davidson motorcycle owners riding their motorcycles along the road as cars made way for the large convoy which consisted of more than 60 Harley Davidson motorcycles thundering down the road as part of an annual worldwide event known to Harley owners as the "Million Mile Monday".

This is the first time the Harley Owners Group Brunei Chapter (HOGB) participated in the annual event where the Harley owners rode their motorcycles from the showroom en route to Muara, Mentiri, Kota Batu, Bandar Seri Begawan to reach their final destination at a restaurant in Beribi, Gadong.

The aim of the group's participation was to unite all Harley Davidson motorcycle owners in Brunei Darussalam as well as to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and support the annual event of HOG worldwide.

"This is the first time HOGB is joining the Million Mile Monday event and hopefully we will make it an annual participation for the members. We have more than 100 members under HOGB," said Abd Malek Hamdani, the Director of HOGB.

He added, "after the ride, we will look at and record the mileage of all the motorcycles and calculate it to submit it to the official website, www.hog.com, who will then issue a certificate of participation for HOGB."

The Million Mile Monday is an annual event on the last Monday of June that brings together HOG (Harley Owners Group) members from around the world in a day of riding to celebrate the joy and freedom of the open road on a motorcycle.

Harley riders will record their mileage for the day and submit the number of their mileage to the exclusive website www.members.hog.com or for non-members to www.h-d.com/mmm.
